ᴅᴇᴀᴅʟɪɴᴇ ꜰᴏʀ ᴀᴡᴀʀᴅ ꜱᴜʙᴍɪꜱꜱɪᴏɴꜱ ɪꜱ Tuesᴅᴀʏ, ᴏᴄᴛᴏʙᴇʀ 1, 2024

EastGen has established this award to recognize a leader/mentor of agricultural youth and to celebrate the legacy of the late Dr. Tim Henshaw. A skilled veterinarian, educator, and communicator, Dr. Tim was highly respected for his integrity and widely known in the agricultural industry and beyond as a leader, mentor and someone who inspired youth to challenge themselves. In addition, he was highly supportive of people throughout his community and beyond and recognized for his giving of self and generosity of spirit.

Created in addition to the youth show participant awards established by EastGen in 2023, the purpose of the annual 𝘍𝘦𝘦𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘏𝘶𝘮𝘢𝘯 𝘚𝘱𝘪𝘳𝘪𝘵 𝘓𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘩𝘪𝘱 𝘈𝘸𝘢𝘳𝘥 is to recognize those who emulate the qualities of Dr. Tim. The winner will receive a cash award provided by EastGen and a keepsake memento. The 2023 recipient was John Drummond (a.k.a. Mr. 4-H).

The 2024 𝘍𝘦𝘦𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘏𝘶𝘮𝘢𝘯 𝘚𝘱𝘪𝘳𝘪𝘵 𝘓𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘩𝘪𝘱 𝘈𝘸𝘢𝘳𝘥 will be presented during the TD Canadian 4-H Dairy Classic at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair in early November.

To build on the IMMUNITY+ FALL SPECIAL campaign, Andrew den Haan has arranged for two impressive milking Ranger-Red daughters to come to the Canadian Outdoor Farm Show (Sept 10-12  Woodstock, ON).  They’ll anchor our EastGen COFS display.

Our focus will be on the importance of breeding and raising healthy and fertile cattle with IMMUNITY+.  IMMUNITY+ is a primary point of differentiation for us in the marketplace and we are the only ones that have it!  We have lots of Immunity+ sires that will meet the goals of any & all dairy segments from Conformation to NM$.

EastGen's 2.5 day AI School is designed to help you understand and manage reproduction in your herd. EastGen experienced staff will moderate a diverse and intense agenda of reproductive management subjects.

EastGen AI School includes:

• Learning AI technique, semen handling, heat detection, estrus cycle, reproductive disorders and more

• Practice with real reproductive organs

• Practice with Breed’n Betsy (artificial training simulator)

• Extensive in-cow practice

• The EastGen AI Manual

• Refresher session on your farm with AI Instructor within 6 months after course

Course Information

Day 1: 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. In Class

Day 2: 8:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.In Cow Practice

Day 3: 8:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. In Cow Practice

*Please bring clean boots and coveralls for the two in cow days.  You do not need to order a kit prior to the course to participate.

Once you have registered you will be provided with all the course details including address, parking information, what to wear, etc. Spots for the course are limited and filled on a first-come, first-serve basis so we recommend registering at your earliest convenience.

Course Cost

The course cost is $700+HST. Loyal EastGen customers receive a 25% discount so the course is only $525+HST (a total savings of $175 +HST).
